Building a completely new model from scratch is a risky investment, because it is unknown if the new model will be succesful on the market. Therefore, existing models, with their known succes, can help to reduce this risk. An existing model can be converted to a EV, bij extracting the engine and fuel tank, and replacing this with batteries and one or more electric engines. Exisitng models will vary in their conversion potential. Think of the Citroen C1 or Toyota Aygo, these models bring their looks, interiour and driving quality. And are not yet build as EV by their OEM. Dutch EV could become a partner for this re-development. What could be stripped from a model when the ICE is not there anymore? Is there place for a small range extender? (And keep the exhaust system) What current ICE models have potential for conversion? Think of attractivenes of the model as it is, its weight and capabilites of the producer to come with a original EV. ... |
